Washington State Ferries has announced that heavy ferry traffic is expected over Labor Day weekend.

“Please plan ahead for heavy traffic this Labor Day weekend, especially westbound Thursday, Sept. 1 and Friday, Sept. 2, and eastbound Monday, Sept. 5,” WSF announced in a press release encouraging travelers to walk on instead of taking their vehicles.

Paid parking is available at the Anacortes terminal. The San Juan Islands routes will operate on the regular summer sailing schedule.
