Preysz began his EMS career at age 14 in Utah as a junior ski patroller; he then became a paramedic in 1981. He has a passion for teaching, having led programs at Weber State University, Utah State Police Academy and the Utah State Department of Health. In April 2015, Preysz was appointed the position of interim fire chief replacing the pervious chief Kevin O’Brien. The Board of Fire Commissioners officially appointed Preysz as fire chief during one of their regular meetings on Nov. 19, 2015.
