Everett Brooks, chef and co-owner of Fire Smokehouse and Grill, will be the next Celebrity Chef in the school cafeteria on Thursday, Dec. 16. He will be applying his signature flavors and culinary secrets into the public school lunch menu.

Brooks, before opening Fire in May of this year with his friend Mac Smith, catered events “out of the back of Mac’s truck,” and he may also be remembered as “the crazy kilt guy with the tattoo” because he sports a tattoo of a smoking grill on his left calf and often wears a kilt in recognition of his Scottish heritage. Both Brooks and Smith have kids in the public schools and representatives from the Farm to Cafeteria Program say they are very pleased and proud that Brooks will be serving them and all others lunching in the school cafeteria on Dec. 16.
