Orcas Island Community Parent, Teacher, Student Association present the first ever skate and barbecue.
on Friday, Sept. 16, everyone is invited to the school for a free barbecue in the cafeteria from 4:15–5:30 p.m., followed by skating from 6–8 p.m. in the old gym. Skates will be provided and the cost is $5 per skater or $12 for a family of at least three. Volunteers and their families get in for free.
All funds raised go to the Orcas Island Community PTSA to enhance its efforts to support school staff, sports and community events.
If you sign up to be a PSTA member at the barbecue or skate, you get one free skate pass to be redeemed any time during the year. It’s only $10 to join and that money goes to help obtain insurance for events like the skate and barbecue.
If you win a roller skating race you earn a cookie card. There will also be skating limbo, high-energy music and tons of fun.
The event will be school spirit themed. Wear your favorite Orcas Island Elementary, Salmonberry, Montessori, Forest School, Christian School, Oasis, Homeschool or any other school gear and get a free Teasers cookie card or Clever Cow Ice Cream card.
