The Funhouse and Orcas Island High School are teaming up for the annual post-high school “Futures Fair” on Tuesday, Oct. 5 and Wednesday, Oct. 6.
The Futures Fair will offer access to college representatives from different state and out-of-state colleges, plus top college counseling consultants from Seattle, and an expert on financing college education.
For the fourth year, The Funhouse is bringing expert college counseling consultants from Seattle. Arlene Prince and Mary Pease will be offering presentations for sophomores and up, as well as individual sessions for students and their parents.
They will focus on college admission, high school curricular choices, standardized test performance, college choices, the college application process, and specifics every potential college student should know.
David Aramaki, Financial Advisor and Financial Education Specialist, will be at parents’ night at the Orcas Public School Library at 6 p.m. on Oct. 5. He will be discussing financial aid strategies, tax issues affecting savings plans, college funding options and more.
The college counseling consultants and financial education specialist will also be offering one-on-one advisory sessions throughout the Futures Fair. The Funhouse encourages parents to schedule one of these sessions, which are free (although a donation is suggested).
Call Krista at The Funhouse, 376-7177 or email krista@thefunhouse.org for more details or to schedule an individual session.
