The elementary school’s building improvements are right on schedule.
Project manager University Mechanical Contractors barged in a crane on Aug. 4 to lift and lower a single unit HVAC system on top of one of the elementary building’s roofs.
In addition to the new HVAC, the Nellie S. Milton building will have motion control heat and lighting and copper plumbing come Sept. 1.
The work is part of a state energy grant awarded to the school district to upgrade and improve the air and water handling systems in the building. Funding has been provided by the grant, a $900,000 loan from Cashmere Bank and local donors.
