Get ready for a new rush of summer visitors.

Evening Magazine’s series “Just a Ferry Ride Away” is featuring Orcas Island during an episode airing Thursday, Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. on King 5.

Segment producer Eric Riddle says the series has been “reintroducing what is in our own backyard.”

Friday Harbor was highlighted a few weeks ago, and the footage for Orcas was recently shot over two days. The show will feature Mt. Constitution, whale watching with Deer Harbor Charters, Roses Bakery, and Magic Air Tours, which gives bi-plane rides. Orcas chiropractors Kami and Orion Mahony were featured in the segment about Magic Air Tours; they took their first bi-plane ride with the cameras rolling.
