Learn how to revive old fruit trees

Food Masters presents “Reclaiming Old Orchards” with pruning and other practices for revitalizing our old island fruit trees with Joe Bullock, Feb. 26, 10 a.m.- 3 p.m., at Cayou Cove Area, Deer Harbor.

Food Masters presents “Reclaiming Old Orchards” with pruning and other practices for revitalizing our old island fruit trees with Joe Bullock, Feb. 26, 10 a.m.- 3 p.m., at Cayou Cove Area, Deer Harbor.

Bullock will demonstrate, including hands-on pruning, and explain how to revive old fruit trees.

Other skills that will be covered are tool use and care, how to collect cuttings for grafting, overall tree rejuvenation and maintenance, and recognizing and managing tree diseases and viruses.

Participants should bring pruning tools, lunch and rubber boots are recommended.

The workshop is offered for a $20 donation, which helps to pay teachers and enable Food Masters to continue to provide quality classes.

Checks must be made out to the Funhouse/Commons and designated “for Food Masters workshop.”
