Nicholas William Zoerb, 18, of Lopez Island was arrested on Jan. 20 and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
His upcoming court dates include an omnibus hearing on March 2 at 9 a.m., a readiness hearing on March 23 at 9 a.m.and a jury trial on April 2 at 9 a.m.
The complaint filed against Zoerb in San Juan County Superior Court on Jan. 23 stated that Zoerb’s mother called the sheriff after she found what she assumed to be drugs and drug paraphernalia in his bedroom in the family home.
Zoerb is currently on probation for a domestic dispute conviction in juvenile court. Having possession of or using drugs is a violation of his probation and allows deputies to arrest him without a warrant.
According to court documents, a 1-inch square ziplock bag containing a white crystalline substance (determined to be methamphetamine), a black lighter, a BIC pen barrel about 4 inches long and a broken light bulb with burned residue was allegedly located in Zoerb’s bedroom.
According to the deputy’s report, Zoerb admitted that the bag contained meth and that he was not using it, but was selling it on occasion.
