On Friday, June 26 at about 10:30 pm, an 18-year-old female was walking alone past the Orcas Medical Center on Mt. Baker Road when an unknown male attacked her and attempted to take her purse. After a struggle she was able to knee him in the ribs and run away. The attacker is still at large.

He is described as being a white male in his late 30s to 40, 6’3″ tall, skinny with short dark hair, and several days growth of beard.  He had very short fingernails and a cut/scar on the top of his right hand.  His teeth looked complete and normal, and he had dirt on his face. He was wearing a black hoodie with the hood up. The sweatshirt had a front pocket and a word that started with a large “W.” He was wearing dark colored pants that were possibly a rip-stop type material.

If anyone has any information or sees this individual, call 911 immediately.
