During the week of Jan. 9 to 16 Orcas Fire and Rescue responded to two fire calls: a serious structure fire and a chimney fire.

Other calls included a single car crash, a citizen assist and a well-being check. Of the eight medical emergencies that the department received, one resulted in an off-island transport by AirLift NW and another via the Sherriff’s boat.

Fire and Rescue recommends that residents with medical conditions obtain a free LIFE form (Lifesaving Information for Emergencies) that will provide emergency personnel with detailed information about their health that could be vital during an emergency. The LIFE form is available by contacting Orcas Fire & Rescue at 376-2331.
