Panelists Shantparv Rolloff, Herlwyn Lutz, and Marshal Bliss will lead a discussion on the meaning and significance of our times as we lead up to the year 2012. They will counter the common misconceptions that the year 2012 has been predicted to be the “End of the World.”
The panel discussion will be on Friday, Feb. 26 at 7:30 p.m. at The West Sound Community Hal
Roloff, of Lopez Island, will bring a perspective based on years of research of the Mayan calendar, and will share about his upcoming work with Masaru Emoto, the Japanese researcher who wrote “The Message from Water.” Lutz, a longtime educator and elder from Orcas, will discuss the topic from both ancient and modern perspectives, and Bliss, also of Orcas, will speak from a Lakota perspective. Bliss has trained with the Lakota and is of Nez Perce decent.
Entertainment will be provided by Dustin Fox and Samara Shaw. Fox will share his spoken word poetry, and Shaw will offer readings from her latest screenplay, “The Shift.”
The event is free, but donations will be accepted.
Lutz, Bliss, Shaw, and Fox will continue the discussion at The Unitarian Universalist Service at the West Sound Community Hall on the Sunday, Feb. 28 at 11 a.m..
