The 2016 summer series of Music in the Park is winding down.

A sing-along featuring Piano Joe from Prague on keyboard and guitar accompanied by percussionist Jim Shaffer-Bauck will be held on Sunday, Aug. 28 at the Village Green at 5 p.m. with guest musicians Gordon Koenig on bass & guitar and Anita Orne on saw and guitar. All American Songbook tunes and classic jazz standards will be featured.

How does a man from Prague develop a love of American songs?

When Piano Joe he was six years old at the end of WWII he befriended three young American soldiers. The soldiers shared their rations of chocolate, cookies and oranges with him. Their gramophone become his favorite toy. Since that time, he has loved traditional American jazz tunes.
