All kindergarten bound children and their parents are invited to a free evening of dinner and activities to assist families in preparing for kindergarten. The event will be held at the Orcas Senior Center on Thursday, May 28.
Following dinner, children will be given a school bag. They will learn summer activities to help them get ready for fall kindergarten by visiting activity tables. The backpack will be filled with educational tools including books, a jump rope and school supplies. Orcas Elementary School and Orcas Christian School kindergarten, preschool and early childhood experts will be at the dinner. Free childcare and dinner will be provided for siblings at Kaleidoscope.
Those planning to attend must register by May 26 with a preferred dinnertime of either 5 or 6:30 p.m. Free childcare and dinner will be provided for siblings at Kaleidoscope during the event. To register for both the kindergarten and siblings dinners call Erin O’Dell at 298-2456 or Ethna Flanagan at 370-0593.
