There were approximately 800 ballots still left to be counted on Aug. 6 at 9 p.m., according to the San Juan County Elections website. There are also mail-in ballots that have yet to be received. However, of ballots counted, the Primary results are as follows:
The San Juan Island Library Levy Lid Lift passed with 55.47% (1,121), voting yes and 44.53% (900), voting no.
Lopez Island School District #144 Proposition 1 Replacement and Safety Capital Levy passed with 63.12% (457) yes and 36.88% (267) voting no.
The County Council District 1 race will be between Kari McVeigh and Stephanie O’Day in the General Election.
Kari McVeigh received 51.94% (2,007)
Stephanie O’Day received 30.46% (1,177)
Adrian Kilpatrick received 17 % (672)
The County Council District 2 race will be between Rick Hughes and Justin Paulsen in the General Election.
Rick Hughes received 51.36% (1,929)
Justin Paulsen received 43.34% (1,628)
Jonathan Welch received 5.01% (188)
