Public comment needed on proposed changes to geohazard and frequently flooded areas ordinance

The San Juan County Council has requested public comment on a few potential changes to the draft ordinance for Geologically Hazardous and Frequently Flooded Critical Areas, including changes that would more clearly identify the required contents of geotechnical reports. These changes are shown in red “Tracked Changes” in the draft ordinance which can be accessed at: http://www.sanjuanco.com/cdp/docs/CAO/Geo_FF_hearing_draft_2_2011-10-24.pdf. The council has requested that comments be relevant to the red “Tracked Changes” items only. Comments should be submitted to the San Juan County Council via Ingrid Gabriel at ingridg@sanjuanco.com. Comments must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday Oct. 28.
