Public invited to share input on Puget Sound recovery plan

The Puget Sound Partnership is inviting the public to visit an open house on the inter-island ferry next week to help determine the steps needed to restore the health of Puget Sound. The PSP has drafted a regional plan for restoring the health of Puget Sound and determined top actions that need to be taken. In the open house, the partnership will highlight Puget Sound recovery priorities and accomplishments and ask people for feedback on those priorities and what other activities are important for their community.

The Puget Sound Partnership is inviting the public to visit an open house on the inter-island ferry next week to help determine the steps needed to restore the health of Puget Sound. The date is Wednesday, Oct. 19.

The PSP has drafted a regional plan for restoring the health of Puget Sound and determined top actions that need to be taken. In the open house, the partnership will highlight Puget Sound recovery priorities and accomplishments and ask people for feedback on those priorities and what other activities are important for their community.

The partnership also will share information about the agency’s measure of Puget Sound health, seek comments on the upcoming update to the Puget Sound recovery plan and provide general information about Puget Sound, recovery and what individuals can do to help.

The open house will begin at 11:35 a.m. on the Evergreen State inter-island ferry as it departs Friday Harbor, and continue throughout two round trips through the islands. The open house will end with the vessel’s 5:10 p.m. arrival back at Friday Harbor.

The Puget Sound Partnership was established by the governor and legislature in 2007 and tasked with coordinating the restoration of Puget Sound by 2020.
