Saints play in football championships

The Orcas Christian Saints placed first at the Milo Invitational, in Eugene Ore., took away the Co-Champion title in the Spokane Flag Football Championships and tied for second in their most recent trip to Santa Cruz, Calif., where they played teams from California, Utah and Colorado.

“This was the most competitive tournament we have played in” said Quarterback Sam Sare of the Santa Cruz championship. “The teams were very physical and we saw a lot of different offensive sets and defensive schemes that we had to adjust to.”

Coach Lonie Sanders said,”the team played really well and had a good balance of competition and time on the Santa Cruz Boardwalk that will likely be one of their fondest High School memories.” OCS has a game at home on the 27th VS Skagit and then completes the season against Frasier Valley in Vancouver the end of October and then plays this same team indoors at the Sports Plex in Bellingham on Nov. 6.
