Ginny Lu Wood of Wood’s Cove wants to pay it forward this holiday season.
“We are all aware of what difficult times our country is going through right now,” Wood said. “Orcas is no exception and it is especially sad now with the holidays upon us. In an effort to ease some of the stress for young families and neighbors who are feeling pinched these days, Santa is hosting his ‘workshop sale’.”
Wood is accepting donations of gently used goods, not to include clothing or furniture, from now until Dec. 23. The items will be priced and sold in a “Santa’s Workshop Rummage Sale” at Wood’s Cove from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wood hopes the sale will help islanders by providing useful goods at low prices, and all proceeds will go to the Orcas Island food bank. As an added bonus, visitors to the sale can share their thoughts on a “Gratitude Tree” in the middle of Santa’s Workshop. For more information, call 376-2900.
