Two young Orcas men incurred minor injuries July 28 when the Porsche Boxer convertible they were taking for a test drive spun off the road on a curve, rolling into the ditch. The vehicle ended up with its wheels in the air and the passengers hanging upside-down by their seat-belts.

“The driver was sober,” said the passenger. “He just went too fast around a corner. The vehicle just didn’t respond. We spun out, then flipped and hit a tree. We landed on its top, so the wheels were up in the air. We were both seat-belted, which saved our lives – that and God,” he said. “I’m speechless, I’m glad to be alive.”

The driver received a citation for speed too fast for conditions, said the sheriff’s department, which has not yet released the names of the men involved. The accident occurred on Rosario Road.

The Porsche was totaled.
