San Juan County Sheriff’s Department reported responding to these calls:

March 20: A traffic violation and warrant prompted the arrest of an Orcas Island man for driving with a suspended license. The 34-year-old, who reportedly ran a stop sign, was pulled over near the intersection of Buck Mountain and North Beach roads at about 5 p.m.

March 23: A jacket, a $100 bill and a camera and its accessories disappeared from an Orcas Island guesthouse in an apparent case of theft. Valued together at $650, the jacket, cash, camera and accessories were missing when a Orcas Island couple and son returned from a week-long Mexican vacation. Two acquaintances were reportedly housesitting at the Deer Harbor home while the family was away.

March 24: A phony $10 bill turned up among her tips or the change that a 16-year-old Orcas Island girl received at either her place of employment or at a store in Eastsound. The fake bill was reportedly turned over to the U.S. Secret Service for processing and investigation.
