A single car collision occurred on Orcas Road around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1. The male driver has been flown to St. Joseph’s.

“The occupant lost control of his small pickup, went into the ditch/embankment, over-corrected, and hit it again,” fire chief Mike Harris said.

The driver appeared to have been drinking and Harris said he may have been suicidal. He did not sustain life threatening injuries, but “the speed and abrupt deceleration can cause bleeding issues to appear later,” said Harris.
