The Orcas Island Artworks features pastel paintings by Patricia Slabaugh through the month of August. The works in this exhibition derive from Slabaugh’s travels over the last ten years. The Artworks is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“I bought a box of Nupastel hard pastels and Rembrandt soft pastels, but that was not enough,” Slabaugh said. “My beautiful collection now includes earthy pastel pencils by Derwent from England and softer, vibrant Sabillo made in the Czech Republic as well as additional sticks of softer pastels from Unison, which melt on the paper and the powdery French Sennelier that magically cling to paper in glorious colors.”
