Students for Peace hold walk-out protest

Orcas High School Senior Will Stephens and a handful of his classmates organized a walk-out on May 15 in protest of the genocide in Gaza. They marched from school to the corner of Main Street and North Beach and were joined by community members of all ages.

Many spoke into a megaphone, calling for the boycotting of corporations that are benefitting from the conflict and stating that “no matter the reason, killing innocent people is wrong.”

“I don’t want to live in a world where children are killed and we go on about our day,” said junior Soli Halabisky.
