The Orcas Island Recreation Program has teamed up with Challenger Sports to provide a British Soccer Camp on Orcas from Aug. 3 to 7 at Buck Park.

A daily regimen of foot skill development, technical and tactical practices and daily tournament style plays are part of each day’s activities.

Each child, working with the coaching staff brought from England, will be provided with individual sessions, a cultural experience and lessons on respect, responsibility, integrity, leadership and sportsmanship.

Camp Word Cup, a highlight of the weeklong camp, includes campers creating cheers, flags and costumes to symbolize the country they represent.

Each camper receives a free camp t-shirt, soccer ball, soccer poster and an individual skills performance evaluation.

Those who register online, at www.challengersports.com or www.orcasrec.org, more than 45 days before Aug. 3 will receive a British Soccer replica Jersey.
