“It was the nicest day we’ve had in a long time,” Jim Schaffer-Bauck said of the 15th Annual Orcas Center Golf Classic held on Sept. 12.

The one-day, 18-hole scramble event, that was sponsored by Island Market and Red Rabbit Farm, had 44 golfers.

It is not yet known how much money was brought in for Orcas Center, but Schaffer-Bauck estimates that around $300,000 has been raised over the last 15 years.

The winning teams are as follows.

First place

The men’s team included Bobby Olmsted, Jesse Goffeney, Roo Smith, and Miles McCloskey. Their prize is dinner at Chimayo’s.

The women’s team was Jocelyn Scott, Madeline Javelet, and Betty Biszantz; they received dinner at Ship Bay.

The winning mixed team included James Connell, Craig Anderson, Scott Jones, and Diane Laso. They will enjoy a meal at Cafe Olga.

Second place

The men’s team was Liam Nutt, Robert Nutt, Chuck Papageorge, and Doug Jones. Their prize was dinner at Bilbo’s.

The winning women’s team was Win Rhodes, Karen Gray, Stacy Snyder, and Glynne Lewis. They are being treated to dinner at Lulu’s.

The winning mixed team included Kathy Youngren, Jenna Hall, Theron Soderlund, and Kurt Morgan. They received dinner at Ecotopian.
