All summer long, families with children ages birth to five have been gathering at The Funhouse to play. Children have been getting crafty in the art yurt, engaging in imaginary play, building giant block forts and participating in active play indoors and out.
Parents also get a chance to connect, share parenting stories and keep their very active toddlers and babies engaged.
The group meets on Monday from 10 a.m. to noon and is free with a family membership.
“This is an age-group that we have been trying to get here more often, and I think we have found the right formula,” said Pete Moe, executive Director. “It’s really thanks to our assistant director, Krista Bouchey who has a four-year old and put the program together. Thanks also go to Bob and Phyllis Henigson for funding early childhood development programs at The Funhouse.”
Included in the Aug. 30 playgroup, Mary Giampetro will be offering a free demo of a Music Together class.
Due to the significant summer participation, The Funhouse will continue the playgroup throughout the year. Children and parents will meet Tuesday mornings beginning Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
