At approximately 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, a Subaru Outback with three occupants wrecked in the 1400 block of Roche Harbor Road.
The vehicle left the roadway, rolled over and caught fire with the three people trapped inside. A deputy arrived on scene, extinguished the fire and began treating the passengers. San Juan Fire and EMS then arrived to extricate the occupants and transport them to PeaceHealth Peace Island Hospital.
The driver is being treated at Peace Island and the two passengers were flown to Harborview Medical Center. The extent of their injuries are unknown at this time.
The Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash. It is believed alcohol was a contributing factor.
