Nancy May Knapp’s fifth grade class went through a time warp back to the age of exploration for their explorer research project. They were visited by none other than Magellan, Christopher Columbus, Sebastian Cabot, Henry Hudson, Hernando de Soto, James Cook, Prince Henry the Navigator, Juan Ponce de Leon, and Sir Francis Drake, just to mention a few. The students said it was a fun challenge, and felt they learned more because they had to do their research from the explorer’s point of view.
