On Saturday, Nov. 11, the American Legion Post 93 in Eastsound will be performing a Veterans’ Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. in the legion hall. It stands for the eleventh month – the eleventh day – the eleventh hour. This program is to honor and recognize military veterans. Afterward, there will be refreshments and time to appreciate local veterans. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.

The Orcas Island School District presents a Veterans’ Day Assembly on Thursday, Nov. 9. There is an 8:45 a.m. continental breakfast in the cafeteria followed by a 9:30 a.m. assembly in the High School Gym. Please RSVP by calling 376-2286 and leave a message.

Orcas Christian School is holding a special tribute for veterans on Nov. 10 at 8:30 a.m. The event is presented by the students and staff of the Orcas Christian School.

“It is your service and sacrifice that enables a school like ours to be possible. We hope that you can attend,” say organizers.
