There is a general call out for volunteers interested in helping with the upcoming Orcas Storyfest, a week-long celebration of storytelling presented at various locations in Eastsound by visiting and local professional storytellers who perform for adults, families, youth, and seniors.
The festival is from Aug. 4 to 9, and organizers are looking for volunteers and contributors to help.
Orcas Storyfest is produced by Eth-Noh-Tec, a kinetic story theater, and co-sponsored by Friends of the Orcas Library and Orcas Center.
Are you skilled with cooking? Do you have a knack for room set up and logistics? How are you with setting up a microphone, working a video, camera, ushering at a performance, or any number of people-friendly skills? They will need help with setting up, hosting, and general assistance at all performance locations.
Other items that are needed include: garden vegetables, baked goods, casseroles, fresh flowers; island experiences like horseback riding, canoes, kayaks, sunset boat cruises, fly-arounds; lodging for artists close to or in Orcas Highlands or a large vacation home able to accommodate eight to 10 people; services like facials, massage, photography, video; volunteers for room and stage logistics, ushers, product tables managers, and marketing volunteers; and cash contributions to offset transportation costs, printing, and meals.
