Volunteers needed to protect and restore marine habitat

Friends of the San Juans seeks volunteers interested in shoreline habitats and species to assist with its Eelgrass Protection and Restoration Boater Outreach Project. Volunteer roles include research, outreach with local and visiting boaters, event planning and the development and distribution of educational materials. Volunteers are needed March 15 through November 1, 2010. Work will occur on multiple islands throughout the county. Energetic and enthusiastic individuals with interests and/or experience with boating, public outreach and marine species and habitats in the San Juans are encouraged to participate.
