WSU “World Class” teacher training for educators

Washington State University and San Juan County 4-H Challenge is offering “World Class Teacher Trainings,” which gives educators access to the best practices that address the top influences on student learning. The new three “R’s” in education are: rigor, relevance and relationships.

“Building Successful Learning Communities” will be held on Saturday, May 2, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Friday Harbor Middle School Commons. There will be an optional second day offered on Sunday, May 3, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. if 10 educators commit to two days of training by the registration deadline.

San Juan and Orcas Island teacher registration is provided by both the San Juan Island and Orcas Island Community Foundations. Lopez and Shaw teacher registration is $125/day. Discount scholarships for registration are available with need, call to inquire.

Registration for the training is required to ensurea minimum group size. Contact Alice Hibberd, 4-H Challenge Coordinator, at 370-7665 or alicerose@wsu.edu by Monday April 27. Late registration may be available.
