Young Eagles fly free on June 14

Up in the air, Junior Birdmen! On Saturday, June 14, Orcas aviators will again celebrate Young Eagle’s Day with free airplane rides for young people, aged eight to 17. Experienced local pilots provide the free flights. A parent or guardian must sign a permission slip, which will be provided at the event.

Up in the air, Junior Birdmen! On Saturday, June 14, Orcas aviators will again celebrate Young Eagle’s Day with free airplane rides for young people, aged eight to 17. Experienced local pilots provide the free flights. A parent or guardian must sign a permission slip, which will be provided at the event.

Orcas Chapter #937 of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) will sponsor the annual event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will take place at the biplane hangar at Orcas Island Airport.

The EAA is a national organization whose mission statement reads “EAA is dedicated to all of aviation by fostering and encouraging individual participation, high standards and access to the world of flight in an environment that promotes freedom, safety, family and personal fulfillment.”
