Eugene “Gene” Maxwell Elliott

Eugene “Gene” Maxwell Elliott passed away January 2, 2007. He was 77 years old.

Gene was preceded in his death by his parents and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Peg Elliott (Nordstrom) a native Orcas Islander, her two daughters, Candy Donaldson, and Joey Mount and his brother. He will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews, four grandchildren and hundreds of friends.

Gene enjoyed life fully. He was born in Sultan, WA, and served as a Marine Corporal in the Korean War. He was Washington State Pistol Champion, was a rodeo rider and a Deputy Sheriff in the Skagit County Sheriff’s Posse. During his 43 years on Orcas Island Gene and Peg could be found hunting, fishing and taking their motorcycle on cross country rides. Gene was a skilled swimmer and had quite the moves on the dance floor. He had a softspoken sense of humor, and was often quoted as saying, “Every day is a good day.”
