Franklin Alfred Collins, Jr., age 64, went home to be with the Lord on November 13, 2009. He passed away in Skagit Valley where he had resided with his family for the past 19 years. He was born on November 22, 1944 in Pierce, West Virginia, the son of Franklin Alfred and Francis Collins.
On March 2, 2005, he married Lucy-Jo Whitten in Clearlake, Wash. where they resided.
He enjoyed doing activities such as playing the guitar, playing pool, and most of all he loved Harley Davidsons. In his life he was the owner of an automobile shop called J. Max Auto that was located on Orcas Island, where he resided with his family for many years. He was a great handyman and enjoyed working on cars. He was a very loving father, grandfather, and husband. He was always there and willing to do anything for his family. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife Lucy-Jo Collins of Clearlake, daughter Kristy Collins of Sedro Woolley, Wash.; son Daniel Collins of Sedro Woolley; granddaughter Kiara Dreyer of Sedro Woolley; son Michael Battreal of Clearlake; grandson Jordan Jefferson of Orcas Island; son Frank Collins of Virginia; daughter Dawn Whitmore of North Carolina; sisters include Shawn Land of Virginia, Helen Grupp of West Virginia, Christine Lester of West Virginia, Bitsy Jackson of Annapolis, Md. and Karen Kite of West Virginia.
