Marty (Mary Margaret Reynolds) was born to John and Freda Reynolds on January 24, 1944, in Bellingham, Wash. She passed on May 8, 2009. Marty grew up in the Ferndale area and attended Meridian schools.

Her early years were spent dairy farming near Custer. She then moved to California where she owned and operated a grocery store. While in California, Marty met and married Garland Slover. They enjoyed camping in the Redwoods, traveling and making country music. Marty had a strong affection for small dogs and loved blooming lilacs and other spring time flowers.

After retiring, she moved back to Washington, spending many years on Orcas Island. The last few years Marty lived near Lynden.

She is survived by her children, Bertha Creelman (husband Tim), Bill Rauch (wife Karen) and Ken Rauch (wife Kirsten); her brothers, Larry Reynolds (wife Archelle) of Gig Harbor, Wash. and Dennis Reynolds (wife Mary) of Richland, Wash.; her grandchildren, Jayson Creelman, Amber Icay, Gail Creelman, Marc Creelman, Sandy Nicolaas, Cassandra Rauch and Seth Rauch; plus six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Sunday, May 17 at Lynden City Park

Pavillion.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to Whatcom County Hospice, Whatcom Humane Society, Whatcom County Meals on Wheels, or Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
