Michael Alan Main

Michael Alan Main, 45, of Rancho Mirage, Calif. and Orcas Island, died March 24, 2006.

Mike was quickly adopted into a welcoming community of friends on Orcas. He was enjoyed for being at once grounded, irreverent, prone to dressing up for a party or parade or airport arrivals, and for his infectious giggle. He lived most of his life in California, and enjoyed two careers, first as an organizational psychologist, and then as a master home renovator. Mike managed to turn the homes he touched and owned into more beautiful and welcoming places, a trait that could also apply to how he was with people.

Michael will be remembered as a loving and gentle man who infused those around him with optimism, joy, humor, and a sense of calm and peace. His

spirit will live on in the hearts of his Orcas family of friends.

Born on Jan. 28, 1961, in San Diego, Calif., he is survived by his life partner Eric Adams, his parents Shanti Kelly and Richard Main, his sisters Vicki Freedom and Debbi Main, a loving host of nieces, nephews, and Adamses, and his much-loved dog Weezer.
