We say goodbye to a wife, friend and islander, Paula Redpath. Paula passed away at home on Sunday morning, Jan. 10, 2010, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

She leaves behind her husband, Jeff (Mal) Malakowski, and Terra, her doggy companion.

Paula, a beautiful spirit, enjoyed nature, adventures, books, a mowed lawn, her dogs, warm sunshine and spending time with Mal. She was born in Ontario, Canada, enjoyed her youth in Vancouver, Canada and moved to St. Croix, where she met the love of her life.

Paula and Mal moved to Orcas Island and together built their dream home in Bartwood. There they operated the Beach House on Orcas until Paula fell ill. It was an honor and privilege to know her.

We will say our farewell to Paula at an open house at Mal and Paula’s home at 64 Foxcove Court, Bartwood Estates on Sunday, January 24, 2010 from 2 to 5 p.m.
