Raymond Henry West, 75, of Olga, Wash died on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012 at his home. He was born on Nov. 28, 1936 in Aberdeen, Wash., the son of Elmer and Lucy (Ames) West.

Raymond married Kimie Kugimiya and they had one daughter, Ellie. He was employed as an electrical engineer with Boeing for over 35 years before his retirement in 1999. He was also a retired major from the United States Marine Corps Reserve.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Kimie in 1988. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Ellie and Ron Johnson of Bellevue, Wash.; grandchildren, Thomas and Autumn Johnson; nephews, Maury Oswald and Russ Oswald; and nieces, Connie Fox, Elaine Oswald-Hunting, and Lori Jo Oswald.

No services will be held, but memorials may be made to the San Juan Preservation Trust. Arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., Anacortes, Wash. and the San Juan Islands.
