Bob passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, February 8, 2007 in Campbell River, B.C. He spent his youth in Coquitlam and in 1973 ventured to Orcas Island where he and his wife Doreen spent many years operating the Orcas Island Golf Club built by his Mom and Dad, Bob and Mary. In 1980 the family moved to Campbell River where they lived for ten years, raised their children and where Bob owned and operated Blake Log Scaling.
In 1990 Bob and Doreen returned to Orcas Island to resume management of the Golf Club. In 2003 Bob returned to Campbell River to work in the Sawmill Consulting business.
He is lovingly remembered by his parents Robert Sr. and Mary, his daughter, Cherie O’Callaghan (husband, Michael O’Callaghan), grandson Finn, and daughter, Chantelle Blake, their mother, Doreen, his sisters Jeri (husband, Warren O’Hara) and Sharon Haire. Memorial Service was held on Monday, February 19th at the St. Johns Anglican Church in North Vancouver.
