The Orcas High School sailing team has 10 sailors on its 2019 spring roster.
It is a veteran roster with nine sailors returning from last year’s team, six of those being seniors. The seniors are in a great position to mentor the younger sailors in the art of crewing and skippering, which will make for a very solid, versatile team that will be fun to watch on the water. Spring competition in the Northwest Interscholastic Sailing Association started with regional regattas March 2 and will continue with regattas almost every weekend through May. The team will be competing only once this spring on its home waters of West Sound which will be on March 16 in the San Juan Islands Regional Team Race Regatta.
