The Vikings season ended this week with games against Cedar Park Christian and Shoreline.
“Overall it was a really successful season,” said coach Matt Stolmeier. “Even though we didn’t make playoffs, we did get a couple league wins and saw a lot of huge improvement in our team play and tactics.”

Christopher Ghazel: 11 goals, 1 assist; Rhys Thompson: 3 goals, 3 assists; Chase Drake: 2 goals, 2 assists; Alex Zbarik: 2 goals, 1 assists; Jack Russillo: 4 goals; Taylor Smith: 2 assists; Cameron Smart: 1 assist; Taylor Smith: “definitely the big presence on the field, always one of our stronger defenders.” Aiden McCormick: “quick and (able) to get back to the ball and clear it out; he saved a number of goals this season with slide tackles… a sneaky defender, he has really high energy, just throws his body in there and does whatever it takes.” Seaburn Geiger: “He brought a lot of intensity to the defense, probably our fastest defender; he really improved this year.” Cameron Smart: “He always brings the intensity. He uses a lot of verbal communication on the field to get people fired up and going. That’s a very valuable resource.”
The Vikings conceded to Cedar Park Christian (2-0) on Thursday, Oct. 21.
“We came out hard and played a really tough game,” said Stolmeier. “It was a good learning experience.”
The next day they faced off against the Shoreline Christian Crusaders.
“They’re a real tough squad, one of the top teams in the state,” said Stolmeier. “The first half hour we were dominating the game, had a lot of great opportunities. We had some great ball work and it seemed like we were working it around the other team really well.” A Crusader lobbed in two quick ones toward the end of the first half, finishing off the match 3-0.
