Confidence in the returning baseball team

James Segault, Viking alumni, is excited for his second year as head coach of Orcas baseball and is enjoying seeing little difference from last year.

“We are pretty much exactly the same squad as last season outside of missing a couple of seniors,” he said. “We don’t have any new players. Although we would like some new guys, it does make it a little easier with the very good cohesion these guys have from last year and years prior.”

Segault says the current team is “hovering around 12 to 13 players” but despite the low numbers, Segault remains undaunted with his lofty expectations for the team.

“My goal is to win league and take it from there – that’s about it. I feel very confident in my guys. We are solid,” Segault said.
