After a summer of hard work, the Orcas Christian School Saints got a small break before beginning again. This will be the Saints’ fourth year in the WIAA.
At the helm is Saints Athletic Director Breezy Davis. She played volleyball at Paradise Adventist Academy and continued as a four-year player at Walla Walla University with two years as a team captain.
The Saints will continue to play in the NW1B league and attend the Walla Walla University Fall Classic, where schools from across the U.S. and Canada play in a three-day tournament.
The Saints will get to see the benefits of the WIAA allowances that make it possible for eighth-graders to be able to play varsity level. Tori Plunkett was with the team last year as a team manager and statistician. She will be a starting middle hitter as an eighth-grader this year. The team will be led by senior captain Alaena Comrie.
“Alaena is a great leader and a great player,” said Breezy. “She has the drive and work ethic of a Saint.”
The Saints are excited to see what this season brings.
