Viking seniors were honored during their last spring sports home games

The Vikings golf team sent a diluted squad due to illness to Anacortes to play La Conner and Mt. Vernon on March 29.

The Viking Golf team, lead by head coach Bobby Olmsted, opened the season at home on Tuesday, March 17 against two strong teams, LaConner and Mount Vernon Christian. Although the teams were fortunate enough to have a sunny day, the difficulty of the Orcas course did not elude the players.

Bobby Olmsted was a pillar of Viking golf as the head coach for 11 years.
Orcas rowing started their crack-of-dawn practices earlier in the year on Cascade Lake. Meeting before school and on Saturdays, this group of dedicated athletes has practice three to five days a week, including fitness, erging and on-the-water technique and racing.

Head coach Jim Passer has reason to be optimistic this year, coming off an impressive 10-4 regular season and his entire lineup returning.
Third year head coach Jason Nichols inherited a very young team and finds himself in his second major rebuilding year with just a 14 player roster.
Four members of the Orcas High School received stand out honors this year for their athletic performance during the season.
