The Orcas Christian School Lady Saints return to the WIAA’s Northwest 1B after a successful inaugural during the 2014-15 season, where the team saw a 14-8 record and a playoff appearance.
Head Coach Corey Wiscomb can sense the excitement surrounding his basketball team. With the return of his entire team, Wiscomb is optimistic as well after taking his young team to the playoffs last season for the first time in five years. And his core guys have been busy, spending time in the weight room, doing plyometrics to elevate athletic skills and attending summer camps gaining valuable experience playing against AAA teams. The camps paid off according to Wiscomb.
Coach Gregg Sasan has a young team to contend with as only two varsity players return and nine new players join the varsity squad. The young Vikings have their work cut out for them according to Sasan.

The 2015 Orcas Vikings football team received all league awards from the state.
The Orcas Cross Country team was proud to send Stephen Hohman, Jr. to the State Championship meet on Nov. 7 where he finished 89th out of 150 participants.
The weekend of Nov. 7 and 8, Orcas Island Yacht Club and Friday Harbor Sailing Club will be hosting the 28th Annual “Round the County” sail boat race.
The Orcas Vikings girls soccer team faced the Friday Harbor Wolverines for the final home game of the season on their home field on Thursday, Oct. 29. The gamed ended 3 – 1. Olivia Gaydos made a goal that her teammate described at the the most beautiful goal ever.
The Orcas Christian School Saints’ Volleyball team traveled to College Place, Washington to compete in the Fall Classic Tournament held on the campus of Walla Walla University.
“The activities today both challenged and broadened our athletes’ definition and concept of the terms team, pride and unity,” said Orcas Booster Club volunteer Justin Paulsen.
Orcas Island High School would like to invite all of our alumni and community members to join in the 2015 Homecoming activities beginning on Friday, Oct. 23. At 1:15 p.m. we will be having our Homecoming assembly in the high school gym. This is the biggest assembly of the school year and is quite entertaining! This is a free event for our community and we would love to see you there, whether or not you have a child who attends our school!
