On Saturday, July 4, before the parade, The Funhouse Commons will hold its fourth annual 5K, now named the “Eat and Run” in honor of the many local restaurants sponsoring the race. Divisions include a 5K run, 5K walk, and a 1K kids’ run. Walkers will start at 8:45 a.m., the kids’ race will start at 9 a.m., and runners will start at 9:15 a.m.
The Orcas Christian School Saints Flag Football team ended its season on a winning note after beating Milo Adventist Academy from Oregon 38-30 and claiming a championship n Billings, Mont. over the weekend. The tournament boosted their overall win-loss record to 18-3.

The Lady Vikings finished the season May 15 with a timely and highly anticipated win against league rival Concrete, 11-9, finishing the year with a 1-13 overall record.
On May 14, six golfers went to the Bi-District Qualification Tournament at the Gallery in Oak Harbor.
The (0-12) Lady Vikings softball team had a rough schedule last week, facing double headers against the league’s top teams. On May 4 the Vikings dropped both games, 17-4 and 17-6, to Friday Harbor while LaConner went home with two wins on May 8, 9-1 and 7-3.
Nine members of the Orcas High School Sailing Team competed at the Northwest Interscholastic Sailing Associations Port Townsend Open Regatta on Saturday May 9.
