On May 27, Mara Nutt golfed with 30 other female competitors. Each golfer qualified in their own district tournament to play in the WIAA Golf Finals at the Columbia Point Golf Course.

The Lady Vikings finished the season May 15 with a timely and highly anticipated win against league rival Concrete, 11-9, finishing the year with a 1-13 overall record.
On May 14, six golfers went to the Bi-District Qualification Tournament at the Gallery in Oak Harbor.
The (0-12) Lady Vikings softball team had a rough schedule last week, facing double headers against the league’s top teams. On May 4 the Vikings dropped both games, 17-4 and 17-6, to Friday Harbor while LaConner went home with two wins on May 8, 9-1 and 7-3.
Nine members of the Orcas High School Sailing Team competed at the Northwest Interscholastic Sailing Associations Port Townsend Open Regatta on Saturday May 9.
Junior sailing starts June 22. For the past 22 years Orcas youth ages 8-15 have been introduced to the sport of sailing through this popular program.
The Second Annual Boat Safely Fair will be held on San Juan Island and Orcas Island in conjunction with National Safe Boating Week.
On April 28, the Viking baseball team narrowly lost 4-3 to the Concrete Lions.Miles Harlow pitched well, and the Viking scored early, but “sloppy play and a couple mistakes” allowed the Lions to score in the bottom of the seventh inning for the win, according to coach Jim Passer. On May 1, the Vikings rebounded strong with an 8-0 win over the Darrington Loggers in a shutout performance by pitcher Pasha Bullock, giving up only three hits.
