The Orcas Vikings and the Orcas Booster Club invite all of Orcas Island to come cheer on the Viking Basketball teams as they head into playoff action.
Calling all island basketball players. Here is your chance to represent your island in the third Annual 5-on-5 Basketball Tournament on Orcas on March 14 at 9:30 a.m. The cost is $75; proceeds go to the Booster Club.

On Jan. 27 the Lady Vikings traveled to island rival Friday Harbor for a 48-41 conference win. Losing earlier in the season to the Wolverines, the Vikings came prepared for a physical contest.

The Orcas Chrisian School Saints won 52 to 39 against the Lopez Lobos last week. Cyrus Amour led the team with 25 points, Michael Harris followed with 16, while Ryan Flint, Elliott Clause, Nick Hodges and Cameron Aragon scored to help lock in the win.
On Jan. 20 the Lady Vikings hosted Cedar Park Christian for a 56-42 win. The Vikings employed a stifling full court press, forcing Cedar Park turnovers but were clearly in a shooting funk, ending the half up only 24-13. Viking points from the free throw line helped maintain the lead.
The boys and girls basketball teams look to improve their records as they fight for a second to fourth playoff seed spot for the Northwest 2B/1B playoffs that start Feb. 16.
